Recruitment Talk - ECF Fairness under the Sun Student Ambassador
4:30pm - 5:30pm
Room 1015 (Lift 3)

Beyond tackling climate change – how can fair trade step in?

Climate change is not only an environmental issue, but also an issue about fairness. Producers in the least developed countries are the ones who suffer the consequences of climate change, yet they get the least help. Globally, Fairtrade Carbon Credits have been introduced to mitigate the effects of climate change. Locally, the Hong Kong government has recently launched the Feed-in Tariff Scheme and other renewable energy projects to tackle climate change. How fair are they?

In the talk, the speaker will introduce the above mitigation strategies and a new programme, ECF Fairness Under the Sun, which is recruiting student ambassadors to guide community tours showcasing local solar power facilities and deliver education workshops.
