Call for Proposals – Health Data Collaboration Projects and Online Workshop by HADCL
As announced in the Chief Executive’s 2017 Policy Address, the Hospital Authority (HA) is establishing a Big Data Analytics Platform (the Platform) to support the formulation of healthcare policies, facilitate biotechnological research, and help improve clinical and healthcare services.
The HA Data Collaboration Laboratory (HADCL) is set up as new alternative channel for more flexible and interactive data sharing in HA, which provides a secured collaboration platform between HA and external parties for deeper data analysis within a controlled environment for conducting health data collaboration projects.
Eligibility
- Researchers from UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong are welcome to submit applications to access HADCL for conducting health data collaboration projects.
- Support from the University and necessary ethics approval for the project proposal are required.
Application Assessment
The assessment of the proposals for the health data collaboration projects will be based on the following criteria:
- For public good
- Readiness of requested data and tools (details of the data and tools available in HADCL are listed out in the Data Catalogue and the Technical and Platform Information Page)

For details, please refer to the information on the Research Office’s website. Interested applicants please submit the application via the HADCL online system. Please send the application form together with the completed CRP Review Form to RO for onward transmission to the Secretariat of CRP.

For researchers who would like to have better understanding on HA’s health data and HADCL’s capability, they are highly recommended to enrol for the Health Data Exploration Workshop.
