About the speaker
Anthony is currently the Vice President for Exterior Design and Concept Cars, Groupe Renault, in France. Born in Hong Kong, Anthony graduated from Automotive Design from the Royal College of Art, London. Anthony began his career at Lotus in England, where he designed the iconic Lotus Carlton. He then worked for Audi in Germany on the AVUS Concept Car and the A4. Later, he joined Mercedes-Benz in Japan where he worked in the new design studio for the M-B F200, the M-B Maybach concept car and the S-Class. Anthony's other positions include: Chief Designer of Advanced Design for Saab in Sweden, Director of Advanced Design for General Motors Europe overseeing Saab, Opel, and Vauxhall projects. Several world renowned concepts cars were developed under his leadership including the Saab Aero X, Opel GTC Concept (Geneva 2008), and the Opel Meriva Concept (Geneva 2008).
Abstract
The unique design ethos of the Bauhaus that has kept the idea alive till today is particularly about its belief in technology to enhance design solutions for societal well-being. It is also known that Renault has the vision to offer well-thought car design integrating with new technology for mass market. Not only being innovative, equally important is the creation of visionary design concepts to drive the future of mobility for transportation in better, new ways for both social and environment good. Anthony will share with us his vision for the future of mobility. Anthony shares with us his design experiences and many car design stories, which would be valuable lessons to us.

About "From the Bauhaus: visions, design and technology"
"From the Bauhaus: visions, design and technology" is an exhibition co-organized by HKUST Division of Integrative Systems and Design (ISD) and Office of Global Learning (OGL). The Bauhaus design ethos was to create designs integrated with technology through a balance of the functional and aesthetic. This event will be held from 21 to 25 Oct 2019. It consists of an exhibition, a documentary film, and three thematic design lectures to showcase its influence to today and future.
