HKUST X FORMS Fintech Mentorship Program - Open for Registration

We are partnering with Forms Syntron for the latest Fintech Mentorship Program for students to gain hands-on, practical fintech research experience with the guidance from industrial experts. Students will work in small groups to come up with project deliverables. Please refer to the details below.

Topics:

  1. Blockchain and Tokenomics in Hong Kong (open to UG students)
    Period: 19 Oct – 6 Nov (3 Weeks)
    Deliverables: Whitepaper (technical / non-technical) / prototype (dApp, smart contract)
    Project scope:
  • Research major blockchain players and tokenomics implementation in HK
  • Research trends of tokenomics (ICOs, IEOs, STOs, etc.)
  • Research variations and possibilities of token usages (e.g. token with embedded legal, lending, or other innovative usages)

    Basic knowledge / preferred skillsets:
  • Basic knowledge of blockchain and tokenomics
  • Experience in at least one programming language (e.g. Javascript, Python, Java, C++, etc)
  • Experience in smart contract development is highly appreciated
  • Experience in frontend development would be a plus
  • Experience in crypto investment (e.g. Buying Bitcoin) would be a plus
  1. Corporate Internet Banking (CIB) services market survey and analysis (open to UG students)
    Period: 19 Oct – 13 Nov (4 Weeks)
    Deliverables: Whitepaper (technical / non-technical)
    Project scope:
  • Research CIB markets on HK, China, and/or SE Asia
  • Research trends of CIB
  • Conduct CIB solution provider analysis

    Basic knowledge / preferred skillsets:
  • Basic knowledge of General Banking Service Offerings to SME/corporate businesses
  1. Stablecoin Implementations and DCEP's impact on Hong Kong (open to PG students)
    Period: 19 Oct – 13 Nov (4 Weeks)
    Deliverables: Whitepaper (technical / non-technical) / Prototype (any)
    Project scope:
  • Research stablecoin implementations (e.g. public blockchains, central bank pilots, DCEP)
  • Research impacts DCEP may bring to HK (e.g. on existing FIs, startups, mobile wallet providers, and digital payments industry, etc.)
  • Research opportunities DCEP may bring to HK (e.g. new business and payment models, digital currency zones, programmable money, etc.)

    Basic knowledge/ preferred skillsets:
  • Basic knowledge of blockchain and digital currencies
