Darwin is a post-graduate from ECE department of HKUST. He is going to share his career path with all engineering students, particularly for those who would like to create your own career path after having your first degree.
Mr. Darwin Yim received his BEng, MPhil degrees from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 1995 and 1998, respectively, in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. After that, he joined the Fujitsu Semiconductor Pacific Asia Limited in March 1998, and started to his research career in Japan.
In year 2000, he brought along the latest flash memory technology to Hong Kong, set up a small team in Fujitsu design center, developing flash memory in Hong Kong. From 2001 to 2006, he worked with FASL (Fujitsu/AMD Semiconductor Limited) and created a series of flash memory products from worldwide market.
In year 2006, Darwin and his team was merged into Fujitsu embedded technology group and begun the development of Flash IPs in high-end microcontroller. Until 2008, he also managed the Analog IP team, and started to provide a full IP service for MCU design, assisting the development of Fujitsu MCU products in China.
In year 2012, he joined the HKUST Integrated Power Electronics Laboratory for an innovative technology fund project developing an IP platform for industry. He currently joins Allystar Co. Ltd. as the director of innovative center to assist the technology transfer from university to industry.
Besides of his technology background, he had a comprehensive managerial skill on project management. He also graduated from the Master of Science in Engineering Enterprise Management from the IELM department of HKUST at 2008, and got his six sigma black belt in 2010.
