Solar Mobile Cafe - Making Zero Impact Fashionable
to
11:00am - 4:00pm
Academic Concourse outside LTC
According to the latest figures released by the UN Climate Change, the fashion industry contributes to about 10 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions – due to its long supply chains and energy-intensive production – and consumes more energy than the aviation and shipping industry combined.

The Fashion Industry has significant impact on achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Beyond environmental impact, the fashion industry is closely linked to labour, gender and poverty issues.

To address the issue of sustainable fashion consumption, WWF’s solar mobile café will be hosted at HKUST to promote “Making Zero Impact Fashionable”. The activity aims to promote and educate the students about fashion sustainability. Upon completion of WWF's surveys about environmentally-responsible consumption and "take a pledge to support SDGs", students will receive free coffee and a reusable coffee mug.
