MentorHUB event: Common legal issues on building startup with 1 on 1 Consultation Session

In this sharing session, our mentor Mr. Mac CHAN, Consultant Solicitor, will share some common legal issues when you are building startup. Student entrepreneurs may encounter different situations that may relate to legal issues such as company structure, contract deal with suppliers and business partners, intellectual property for product development. Come to join this session for more legal insights for your startup development.

1. Students who are interested in this event, you are recommended to register as member of MentorHUB@HKUST before registration. Priority in joining this event will be given to the members of MentorHUB@HKUST.

2.  You can only join the sharing by Mac. However, for the consultation session, pre-registration is needed and timeslot will be assigned by the organizer and confirmed by email. Successful registrants for the consultation will have 15 mins 1 on 1 online consultation with Mac for seeking advice for your startup development.

Brief biography of Mentor 

Mac Chan

Mr. Mac CHAN is a practising solicitor of HKSAR, an accredited general and family mediator and a parenting coordinator. He has been elected as an associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators and a member of Hong Kong Institute of Directors.

He has years of experience dealing in a broad range of dispute and litigation work, including family and matrimonial, corporate commercial, financial services and regulatory, judicial review, will and probate, white collar crime, product liability, fraud and asset recovery, and employment. 

He has held a number of public and professional offices, including serving on Youth Development Commission, Harbourfront Commission, ICAC Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations, Obscene Articles Tribunal, Subsidised Housing Committee of Housing Authority, amongst others.  He has also been appointed as Hon. Legal Advisers for various NGOs and charities in Hong Kong.
