EIU Global Macroeconomic Forecast with Special Focus for Covid-19 Impact

In this online presentation, Mr. John Marrett, senior EIU analyst, will cover:

  • EIU global forecast for GDP growth
  • Major trends in the global economy for 2020 (other than the Covid-19 pandemic)
  • Covid-19 impact across different countries, major markets and specific industries
  • Long-term impact of the pandemic i.e. the rise of E-Commerce, working from home, and automation

Note: 1.0 hour will be counted towards the course requirement of PDEV 6770C and PDEV 6770D.

 

About the Speaker

 John is the Lead Analyst for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam, and the Manager of Country Risk Service for the Asia region at The Economist Intelligence Unit. He is based in Hong Kong. His research interests include cross-Strait relations, migration patterns and aging populations in East Asia, and tourism sector development. In addition to his regular responsibilities including policy analysis and macroeconomic forecasting for Taiwan, he produces large custom research projects for government clients on a diverse array of topics such as cross-Strait relations, the Southbound Policy and cost-of-living in Taiwanese cities...
